Brazilian jiu jitsu for Newington
Newington sits just south of the academy, tucked between the Fairfax County Parkway and I-95. From the Newington Forest side it is a ten minute drive north, which puts Black Cat closer than most people realize when they start looking for a place to train.
What you get for that short drive is a black belt who teaches the classes himself. Adam Benayoun is a second-degree black belt who competes at the international level and works professional MMA corners, and he runs the room in person rather than franchising his name onto it.
We keep it welcoming on purpose. First-day nerves are normal and you will be looked after. Technique lets you use your whole body and your opponent's momentum, so a size gap stops being the whole story, but you learn that by drilling it rather than by being told it.
