Brazilian jiu jitsu for Burke
Burke sits just southwest of the academy, past Burke Lake Park and the Burke Centre neighborhoods. If your week already runs on the Rolling Road and Old Keene Mill corridor, Black Cat is a short hop off the route you drive anyway.
That proximity is the whole point. A gym you can reach in twelve minutes is a gym you actually train at three times a week, instead of one you mean to get to. Families around Lake Braddock and Burke Centre tend to stack a kids class and an adult class back to back on the same trip.
You do not need any experience to start. Most people walk in having never grappled, and within a few weeks they are rolling and hooked. Beginners, returning grapplers, and competitors share the same mat, so you are never the only new person in the room.

From Burke it is a short drive northeast to 8001 Forbes Place in Springfield, usually up Rolling Road or across Braddock Road, about 12 to 15 minutes depending on traffic. Coming from the Burke Centre side, Old Keene Mill Road is the cleaner run. There is parking right at the door, so you are not circling a garage before class.

Straightforward. Old Keene Mill Road or Rolling Road both feed toward Springfield without touching the Beltway, so evening class times stay predictable even in rush hour.
Yes, and Burke families do it often. The Black Kittens kids classes and the adult classes run close enough together that one drive covers both. We currently teach ages 8 to 13.
