Brazilian jiu jitsu for Lorton

Lorton sits at the south end of our catchment, a clean run up I-95 to the academy. Whether you are near the Workhouse Arts Center, out toward Occoquan Regional Park, or closer to the Lorton VRE station, the drive north is about fifteen minutes and mostly highway.

For Lorton and Fort Belvoir members that makes Black Cat the nearest room training jiu jitsu at a real competition standard. Adam Benayoun teaches the classes himself, and the mat you learn on is the same one his competitors train on.

Most people arrive having never grappled, and that is exactly who the fundamentals classes are for. You learn positions, escapes, and basic self-defense first, then drill and roll with partners who keep it safe. The progress comes faster than you would think.
