Fairfax Station sits west of the academy, a quieter, more spread-out pocket of the county along Ox Road between Burke Lake and the Occoquan. It is an easy drive east to Black Cat, and families from the area train with us through the week.
The kids program, the Black Kittens, teaches children jiu jitsu slowly, safely, and with a lot of encouragement. They build the kind of quiet confidence and focus that shows up at school and at home, not just on the mat.
Parents train too, and often on the same nights. It is one of the few things a family can do together where everyone is genuinely working at their own level rather than one person waiting in the lobby.

The drive from Fairfax Station
From Fairfax Station it is about 15 to 18 minutes east to 8001 Forbes Place, usually along the Fairfax County Parkway or up Ox Road and across toward Springfield. From the South Run and Burke Lake side, the parkway is the faster of the two.
